Maui Vacation Spots
You could literally visit any place in Maui and have the vacation of your life. However it
does pay to do a little research before leaving so you can plan the Maui vacation spots that you really want to visit.
You may love the beaches or rainforests or volcanoes. Depending on your hopes for your vacation, there are a variety of spots you
can visit in Maui. We will touch the surface on some of the more spectacular locations for your Maui vacation.
West Maui
This is the major tourist location in Maui. There are many hotels, resorts, golf courses,
shops and everything that caters for tourists. Lahaina a nice old town, which was a whaling port, is now flourishing with art galleries, shops,
restaurants and lots of fun and entertainment.
You'll also find popular Kaanapali and Kapalua here. Kaanapali which is famous for its white
sand beaches and upscale hotel rerorts and Kapalua is known for its Golfing experience, the Plantation course is the most challenging and most
well known, which also hosts 'The Mercedes Championship' every January.
South Maui
Southern Maui is growing fast and is quickly becoming another tourist hub. Kihei contains
many resorts and great beaches for visitors. Wailea and Makena are other really nice areas in the south or Maui.
If you're after a great snorkeling spot then try Honolu'a Bay located in Maui's north. This
marine reserve is considered one of Maui's best snorkeling spots. Makulei'a Bay is also another top snorkeling location with lots of colorful
fish.
From north to south and east to west, Maui presents travelers with an astounding array of
choices when it comes to vacation spots. You'll have a great time whichever you choose and if you are staying long enough, you can visit them
all!
East Maui
This is the quiet part of Maui. To reach here you'll have to take a road trip from Kahului to
Hana, usually described as the Road to Hana, it's a 52 miles journey, which is a great experience as you drive past natural beauty such as huge
waterfalls right near the road, freshwater pools, black sand beaches and luscious green valleys all around.
In Upcountry Maui you'll find Kula which contains Maui's only winery Tedeschi Vineyards.
Pukalani and Makawao are fairly large communities here. Upcountry Maui is considered to be the foothills of Haleakala and is a rural residential
location but great for a peaceful vacation.
